Dinosaurs roamed Antarctica-- definition:  tectonic plates

Tectonic Plates: The Earth's crust is made up of a small number of semi rigid sections, called tectonic plates. These plates erupt along their boundaries--where two or more plates meet-- with seismic activity and volcanism. Plate movement has resulted in drifting continents and changes in the shape and size of ocean basins and continents.
