Expanded information:
A reader spends 2.9 minutes reading a WonderQuest page, averaged over 100
pages of top content — the top 100. About 95% of the readers are new
visitors, which is a higher percentage than other science sites (62%) of about
the same size. New visitors see the ads for the first time, and are
curious clickers.
Visitors come from 175 countries worldwide.
WonderQuest displays 700 articles (which Google regularly prowls) of answers to all sorts of questions.
Please note ==>>Google gets a figure I don't understand for the average time
spent on site: 45 seconds. I've looked at times visitors spend on pages
included in the Top 500 content pages (as many as Google reports), and the times
look about the same as the Top 100, for which I calculated an average time of
2.9 minutes. It's a puzzle. I see almost no times as low as 45
seconds. I suspect,
perhaps, Google reports a zero time on site for Not Found pages and averages the
zeros in with the pages readers actually visit. But, that's a guess.
