Tiny corn in Asian dishes is real corn
Q: In many dishes of food today, we see small white ears of "corn". Is this vegetable really corn. If not what is it? And how
does it grow? Where is it grown-Gordon S., Sanford, NC
A:
It is corn-baby corn. It's grown all over the world and you can probably find some fresh baby corn at your local farmers' market
from mid-August to mid-September. The U.S. and Europe import canned baby corn from Asia, especially Thailand.
